Wallstreak popup windows for comment thread
Wednesday, September 12th, 2007I made a new popup layer for comments, so that you don’t have to load a new page every time you click to view a thread/comments on a post at wallstreak - and now they are movable! Ooooo aaaahhhhh.
You can move the window out of the way if you are trying to read the text below - which continues to update automatically with new posts.
Chat Archive now available on WallStreak
Saturday, July 28th, 2007I’ve made a calendar archive so you can see posts from past days on WallStreak. It’s on the sidebar right below the Top Ten list.

WallStreak trick #16: User View and Whitelist
Wednesday, June 20th, 2007One thing I’ve noticed that some WallStreak users are doing is just watching one user. Instead of going to the main page, where you see posts by all users (or all users you have not blocked), they are just watching a particular user’s page. For example, they might load Pinoy’s page and they can sit back and the page will automatically update with posts by Pinoytrader, along with his stock watchlist.
What if there are two traders that you would like to watch? Or three?
When you create your account (or after you have created your account by clicking on the “Edit Profile” link), you can select the Whitelist option, which means that only posts of users that you select will be displayed.

To add a user’s posts to your view, just click on the “add user” link in the sidebar:

At any time you can switch back to the regular view (all users you have not blocked) by clicking on the “Edit Profile” link and changing the option back to Blacklist.
WallStreak via the Firefox search bar
Tuesday, June 19th, 2007TraderMike posted about quick access to Google & Yahoo Finance via the Firefox search bar, so I made one for WallStreak. You can add it by going to WallStreak and clicking on the Firefox Search dropdown, and clicking on “Add Wallstreak Search.”
Or you can just go here and click on it.
WallStreak: Bad Memory
Tuesday, June 19th, 2007WallStreak host having issues
Thursday, June 14th, 2007In case you’re wondering why you can’t open WallStreak this morning, the host is “currently experiencing instability.” I put in a ‘911′ request for this to be resolved, so hopefully that means it will be taken care of quickly.
Update: It’s back up and running.
WallStreak: Tour added
Saturday, June 2nd, 2007I’ve added a tour to WallStreak so users can get a better idea about its features. You can see the tour button in the sidebar if you are logged out, or you can get to it from the About page.

WallStreak update: search posts by symbol
Sunday, May 13th, 2007I made a few changes to the way that WallStreak handles symbols.
First, I made it easier to link to a symbol in a post. Instead of typing ’s:[symbol]‘, you now can just type ‘=[symbol]‘. It’s a little faster. For example, the following post would link AKAM, and automatically add AKAM to my watchlist:
=AKAM looks good.

Before, when you clicked linked stocks, they brought you to stocktickr. now, they search and display all posts that have linked to this symbol. So, in the above example, if you clicked on AKAM it would take you to all WallStreak posts about AKAM.
You can also click on the symbol in the “top ten” box on the sidebar and it will do the same.
WallStreak: Reply to posts makes things more organized
Friday, May 11th, 2007I have added functionality on WallStreak so that you can reply to a post. You just click on the icon in the post with the little green arrow. When someone replies to one of your posts, you will get an email notification. If you don’t want to receive these notifications, you can turn it off by editing the option in your profile. Let me know if you have questions/comments or notice any bugs. Thanks.
