N.Y. Woman Wins Lottery Again

Wednesday, September 13th, 2006

A Long Island deli worker, Valerie Wilson, has won the state lottery for the second time. The odds of this happening are 1 in 3,669,120,000,000. To better understand what this means, if every single human being who is alive today or who has ever lived on this planet at any point in the history of the universe was given 35 tickets, only one ticket would be expected to win. I bet it would be one of the 35 that Valerie Wilson were given.
But get this - two other people have won it twice!
This makes me wonder if it is just coincedence or if it is something else. You know, at the quantum level, certain things do not happen unless they are observed by a conscious entity. Consciousness, matter, and energy are inextricably linked. This is an important thing to consider as a trader. If you meditate long enough, drink lots of green tea, and practice your kung fu every day, you may be able to move the market with your mind. A few times in the past I have tried extending my qi into the market, but so far I am only able to move very illiquid stocks only a few pennies.

Here is a video of one of my kung fu students using the special “sewer lid” move that I taught him many years ago:

Shoalin Temple abbot & the luxury car

Monday, August 28th, 2006

Shi Yongxin, the abbot of the famed Shoalin Temple, has created a stir by accepting a $125,000 luxury car for his “services for tourism.”

“I will try my best to promote martial arts to the world in an attempt to boost local tourism. I dream of getting a bigger prize next year,” Shi said when he received the car a week ago, according to the Xinhua news agency.

Similarly, Mother Teresa was given a limousine in 1964 from Pope Paul VI, which she “immediately raffled to help finance her leper colony.”

Samurai Champloo

Tuesday, June 27th, 2006

Samurai Champloo I just watched the first four episodes of Samurai Champloo, a samurai anime series with a hip-hop soundtrack. You can see the intro here. I rented the first disc of the 7-disc series just to see if I wanted the rest. I thought it was pretty good, so I’m going to have to add the rest to the queue. The series was only allowed to be aired past 12:00am in Japan because the network deemed it too graphic for prime time television.
Actually, the entire first episode is available on youtube.
Actually here is the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th episodes on youtube. Okay, I’m not going to add it to the queue, I’ll just watch it here. If you want to see more episodes, just search youtube.

Zhang Ziyi Sexy Chinese actress Ziyi Zhang will star in The Banquet, a new kung fu movie that is a “loose adaptation of Hamlet.” It looks pretty cool - you can see a trailer here.
She will also star in Weinstein’s upcoming remake of Seven Samurai, in which she will play a village girl who dresses as a man to protect herself from bandits.

Featured kung fu master: Monk Hai-Tank

Monk Hai-Tank With adequate qi development, humans are able to accomplish amazing feats. As this video demonstrates, Monk Hai-Tank was able to balance on one index finger.
Every morning before the market opens I meditate to extend my qi for trading. I am not skilled enough to only use one finger, but I will sometimes meditate in a two-finger stand.

This isn’t a student of mine, but it is interesting to watch the technique of the man in the yellow shirt. He is obviously inferior to his opponent, and yet he remains unscathed throughout their encounter. It is a lesson in kung fu that can be used in trading the stock market on a day like today.

This week I will feature one of my more well-known students as he demonstrates the “fire-breathing” technique I taught him many years ago. He put together a video with music and dancing sexy women. That costume always gets me - he insisted on wearing it every day during our training.
