September 2006 Review
What a sucky month. I agree with Richard that this month may have been worse than August. There were few opportunities. And of the few opportunities – I had a computer glitch with one of the best.
I made about 7R on the month with about 70 trades for an expectancy of only 0.10.

If I had been able to get AMR, I would have had about a 16R month, which makes me feel a little better about my system.
But my goal is to make 20R a month, so I still would have failed to achieve my goal even with AMR.
Despite the poor results, overall I was happy with my trading. It was a tough month, which makes it important and difficult to stick to your system. I stuck to my system pretty well, and I was only really disappointed with one day. It was a frustrating month because it was choppy and provided few opportunities. My results were poor, but I am satisfied because after breaking my rules a couple of times last month because of being frustrated with the market, I was able to remain mostly calm and stick to my system despite the continued frustrating market conditions. I think this month could’ve been a lot worse if I had continued trading as I did in August.
I didn’t kept track of my profit/loss for the month, which helped a lot. Like Richard said on JC’s blog, “that number’s like poison.”
If only each R were $10,000, then 7R wouldn’t be so bad. But because my account is still small, I call myself a “starving chartist.”
