Maria Bartiromo's interview
Tradermike posted a link to the video of Maria Bartiromo's interview yesterday which started the market freefall. I think it is hilarious to watch as things start off calm and then slowly build up as you watch the the Nasdaq drop further into the red. The noise in the pit gets louder and louder until eventually Maria turns around (just after the 3:50 mark) and says "it seems like something is going on here," not understanding that she is the reason for it.

If anything, such nonsense affords large market making shops an opportunity to quickly blow out some stop loss orders on their order books.
Too bad you couldn't see it Todd. It was both hilarious and pathetic.

Thanks Scott. I did go back and the video was there this morning. For whatever reason it was not available the day Ugly made this post.
The reaction from the pit occurred quite a few minutes after Bartiromo's comments so I don't know if it's accurate to say that her comments moved the market. Bill Cara attributed the down move in the markets to Bolivia's decision to take control and nationalize their natural resources.
I tried the link twice and a message comes on that says "video no longer available."
Hmmmm.... I wonder if someone told someone at MSN to "get that damn video off the internet !"
