Chess: worse than anal sex
The Grand Ayatollah Sistani of Iraq's website says that chess is worse of a sin than anal sex and at the same level as abortion.
It is not permissible, because it is a means for Lahv (debauchery) and gambling. Many traditions have been reported from the Holy Prophet and the Imams (a.s.) that prohibit playing chess. Moreover, when we do not know the reason behind the forbiddenness of an act, we are bound to obey in absolute obedience. There is a reason for it, but we do not know it and when we do not know it, it does not mean that we should not abide by it.

I wonder how they arrive at these conclusions.. "hmm that awful chess game felt so much worse than the anal sex we had earlier on today, don't you think?" and consider the implications of using a chess piece in the process of.. ;-)

Hmm...maybe he was real bad at chess then he decided to ban it...together with anal sex which did not satisfy him either...:)
