Steve Cohen's rotting shark
Do you guys remember Steve Cohen from Jack Schwager's book Stock Market Wizards? Personally, I remember being the most impressed with him out of all the other "wizards" from that book. Well, I read via fark that his $12 million piece of art is rotting. Not a very good investment if you ask me.
My heroes are the occasional janitor I read about in the news who accidentally throw away an expensive piece of "art" because they mistake it for garbage.
In my ceramics class yesterday, we had to make a clay hand and critique others' hands in small groups. I prefer and understand the simple things, like pots or dishes, but when it comes to sculptures and pieces of art that have no purpose but to look at, I am lost and it actually gets on my nerves. I was forced to critique another's hand and so I told him, "I can see your sadness."
