Andrew: I don’t really know where to find good info - I would try elitetrader and blogs. I think the systems/logic is the most important, because you can make money on that without a program. But the programming is important too because we had a lot of issues at first with the stability of the system, which took our edge away. It has been very stable lately and it is nice.
John: how was the movie? I read the book a few years ago and started practicing counting cards. I think I’d rather study poker now.

After watching “21″ you might want to go to Los Vegas and try simple math ha ha….
Thought it was a pretty good movie and based on real counters that won there in the big casinos…

Well done Ugly!

Can you suggest a place to get started reading about the path to automated trading? I am aware of IB’s manuals but don’t have a clue where to go after that.

Also how would you weight the programming skill/trading logic mix in terms of importance? I would need to get a programming friend to help me I suspect though am pretty strong in the logic and systems side of the equation.
