American League Completely Tied Up

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

It’s interesting that with less than a couple of weeks left in the regular season, as of right now the first place teams for the East, Central and West divisions of the American League have identical records, 90 wins and 62 losses (which also happens to be the best record in baseball):

Boston is playing a game right now, so when they finish this will no longer be true.

Out of it

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

Man, today my brain was somewhere else. Maybe I was paying too much attention to the Indians game this afternoon (they swept the series over the 2nd place tigers). I don’t know what it was. The entire day, until about 5 minutes ago, I thought it was Tuesday for some reason. And you’re not going to believe this, but I thought it was only 1:17pm when the market closed! I had many open positions and when everything stopped moving, I was like “what is going on??” I checked my internet connection and everything. I couldn’t figure it out.
I have a new computer and Vista is so unstable - the clock in the bottom right hand corner just stops sometimes. I didn’t realize how much I rely on the time in the toolbar at the bottom. It didn’t even occur to me to wonder why it was staying at 1:17 for so long. I just kept thinking, “ok, I’ve still got about 3 hours before the close…”
Here is a screen capture of the last sales window combined with the toolbar clock:

Needless to say it was my worst day of the month.
