The9 Limited (NCTY)

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

I’ve decided that every day I will talk about one stock on my watchlist. Today I will mention NCTY, which is near a new all-time high:
NCTY stock chart
The9 Limited is an online game operator that “primarily engages in the development and operation of massively multiplayer online role playing games (MMORPGs) for the Chinese online game players market.” So they make MMORPGs for Chinese - who knows how high this stock could go?
It closed at the high today - on a very weak day for the market - but on light volume. NCTY’s avg volume is 345k and it only traded half that, about 171k, today. Still, the chart looks nice and 56% of the shares are owned by insiders, which gives me confidence.
But that’s not all. Dude, check out the revenue and earnings growth:
The earnings growth of NCTY
Anyone know why this one isn’t in the IBD 100?

J. Crew Group, Inc. (JCG)

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

I’ve decided that every day I will talk about one stock on my watchlist. Today I will mention JCG, which broke out to a new all-time high with volume:
JCG stock chart
J. Crew Group, Inc. “operates as a multichannel specialty retailer of women’s and men’s apparel, shoes, and accessories in the United States.” I prefer to trade AMEX and Nasdaq stocks, but it is hard to deny the power of JCG, with such a nice chart and earnings growth.
I was busy watching other stocks, but johnson pointed it out on WallStreak right as it broke out at 10:30am today. What a sweet trade.
You have to be patient to find a low-risk entry at this point.

Or you can just go here and click on it.

WallStreak: Bad Memory

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

I guess the server has some bad memory, which they are replacing now. Supposedly this is what also caused the problems last week. Once that is fixed, the site will be back up and running.

Update: The memory has been replaced and the site is back up.

Baidu.com, Inc. (BIDU)

Monday, June 18th, 2007

I’ve decided that every day I will talk about one stock on my watchlist. Today I will mention BIDU, which broke out to a new all-time high with volume:
BIDU stock chart
Baidu.com, Inc. “provides Chinese language Internet search services. Its services enable users to find relevant information online, including Web pages, news, images, and multimedia files through its Website links.” BIDU, which is on the IBD 100 and has an average volume of nearly 2 million, is a market leader and a good stock to day trade. It’s earnings growth is very strong.
I bought some today under $145. It had been on my watchlist, but Highchartpatterns also mentioned it last night, so I was watching it more closely.
I have to say, trading stocks is WAY more fun (and profitable) for me than trading futures. I’ll still trade futures, and I’m glad I devoted myself to it the last few months because I have learned a lot, but I am also very glad to get back into stocks. One thing I love about trading stocks is that you have thousands of different options, and you get to go through them all and find the best looking ones.
By the way, as I was watching the tape on LOOP, I noticed a few very large chunks of volume today. These chunks were larger than anything I’d seen before, yet you wouldn’t really be able to tell based on the daily chart, as volume was a little below average. It makes me think LOOP might breakout (continuation) soon. But I’m waiting for a break over $22.25 to add to my position.
