I just got into futures due to all the recent hype and this being my first week of trading I’ve since lost over 3K of my 5K account. It hurts! Although I’m disappointed I lost all that money, I did learn about futures. Maybe I’ll stick to paper trading for now. But yeah I agree paper trading is just not as fun…

Yeah, that video didn’t make much sense - he’s comparing how much the Russell is down compared to the S&P in points when the two indices have completely different levels 700 something vs. 1400 something…. and different betas too probably…

You mean that you paper traded futures for less than one week and then went live?!

Instead of bouncing around from technique to to technique (intraday charts, daily charts, scalping, ATS, now futures, etc.) you need to gain a real edge. People who just watch charts for dummy entries or only use indicators like RSI pay the pros. Wilytrader has the right idea though I think he is still developing his system.

I don’t see any difference between trading QQQQ and NQ risk-wise. Just that NQ trades must be in blocks of 800 QQQQ equivalent shares and the tick is 0.6 QQQQ cents… You have to be careful not to be seduced into using too much leverage in the futures market.
